Solar Powered Hot Water...

We install solar domestic hot water systems from 140 to 600 litres as standalone systems with several options for back up heat sources.

We install under floor heating systems powered by solar hot water panels with or without a back up heat source e.g. a wood stove with back boiler or a heat pump or high efficient condensation boiler. The thermal storage unit of such a system will also provide domestic hot water.

We prefer not to use heatpipe collectors. We use high quality flat plate collectors.

Who can benefit from Solar Hot Water...

Whilst Solar Electricity is something that a fair number of households will benefit from, Solar Hot Water is something that will provide a saving to most households in this area of Spain.

If you are currently using gas or electricity to heat your water, you are spending a lot of cash that could be used elsewhere.

We can install simple domestic hot water systems or complete systems for heating the whole house and providing domestic hot water. These systems can be backed up with alternative power supplies so that you are never without heating or hot water.

And not to forget one of the biggest plus's for this type of heating as well - The carbon footprint of Solar Hot Water systems is extremely low, so as a result our environment becomes a better place because of it.

What is a Solar Hot Water Panel...

Again there are a variety of panel types and if you follow the link below you will be able to take a look at some brochures on the various types of panels available.

The main type that we use is an open circuit thermo siphon panel which passes water into the collector where it is heated and then returned to the tank.

When you speak with an engineer, they will advise you on the sizing and type of panel needed and how and where it should be located.

So where will the panels go...

It is normal for the panels to go on your roof, but they can be placed in any other situation that is of a reasonable level and is reasonably close to your property.

And what if it just isn't enough...

Obviously with any system that relies on an energy source that is not always present, there will be occasions when the system may not meet your needs. The system will be sized by our engineers to meet your needs for all but the most adverse conditions. We offer a range of alternative solutions such as stoves with back boilers, electrical top-up should this be available and others. Please consult with the engineer so that you understand all the available solutions and the impact they have.
